Instalar un theme

Hola. Hasta ayer, solo use Windows.
Me compre una NoteBook, estuve a punto de comprar una con Windows 7 (ya tengo una pc de escritorio con ese S.O.) pero a ultimo momento desisti y me compre una que trajo instalado GNU/Linux. Lo primero que me llamo la atencion es lo rapido que arranca y funciona Linux con respecto a Windows 7.
Lo otro, que me reconocio todo periferico que le acerque a la NoteBook al toque!!! Buenisimo el pinguino... Ahora:

Como se que distribucion tengo instalada? Creo que es Ubuntu.
y, como instalo esos THEMES que me baje?
